Safety Description:Poison by ingestion, subcutaneous, intravenous, and intraperitoneal routes. Human systemic effects by ingestion and intravenous routes: somnolence, anorexia, headache, thrombosis distant from injection site, nausea or vomiting, and leukopenia. Experimental reproductive effects. Mutation data reported. Questionable carcinogen with experimental carcinogenic data. When heated to decomposition it emits very toxic fumes of Cl⁻, NH₃, and NO_x. Used as an antineoplastic agent.
