Safety Description:A poison by intraperitoneal, subcutaneous, and intravenous routes. Moderately toxic by ingestion. Human reproductive and teratogenic effects by subcutaneous route: abnormal neonatal measurements and developmental abnormalities of the gastrointestinal system. Used to treat hypertension. When heated to decomposition it emits very toxic NH₃, NO_x, and Br⁻.
